The Ocean Café at Nye Beach is newly established and aims to provide an exciting and fun work atmosphere while providing a great amenity for the Inn at Nye Beach and the surrounding community. We are looking for people with great attitudes who want to put smiles on people’s faces while taking orders, preparing and serving drinks and food, and accepting and posting payments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greets all customers and guests with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks, and food items when possible.

Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner.

Actively share and educate customers and guests on products (including pastries) and services.

Prepares and serves high quality drinks and food following all company recipes and procedures.

Sells and serves baked or packaged goods to customers and guests.

Willing to learn about various types of coffee, tea products, blends, and roasts.

Reports all customer complaints to the manager on duty.

Responds proactively to prevent customer service situations by listening to and working to achieve a positive result for the customer or guest.

Accurately rings sales orders into a cash register and counts back courteously change to customers.

Answers phone in a smiling voice, including but not limited to giving greetings, directions, and receiving customer orders.

ENVIRONMENT

Maintains professionalism with other employees while keeping a fun and energetic employee environment.

Restocks shelves when necessary.

Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows, and grinders, and removes trash, etc.

Cleans bathroom attached to the Café.

Assist in the distribution and restocking of shipments.

Reports potential safety hazards, accidents, or operational issues to the manager on duty.

QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must obtain an Oregon Food Handling Certificate (employee responsibility)

Entry Level position

May work special events for the Inn at Nye Beach as needed or support the Inn.

Maintains positive morale and professional attitude.

Must be able to work overtime, as needed.

Excellent verbal and written skills

Well-organized and detail-oriented

Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.

Regularly required to lift and move items up to 45 pounds.

Regularly required to handle food that may contain peanuts.

Regularly required to handle hot water, beverages, reaching temperatures above 190 degrees.
