    Job Description

    Under general supervision, the VIP Attendant maintains the cleanliness of the VIP Lounge and ensures adequate stock levels of food, condiments, and supplies.

    The VIP Lounge Attendant:

    • Will represent and highlight the Boyd brand by offering a continuous entertainment experience for Belterra Resort guests and the general public through beverage service, B Connected knowledge, and guest services.
    • Always exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor.
    • Responsible for learning and being familiar with all of Boyd Gaming Inc.’s room, outlets, Attendant functions, and for being able to answer general questions regarding the property.
    • Maintain a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance
    • Attendants may appear in television, radio, and print (including billboards) advertisements and perform public relations activities.
    • Anticipate the guest’s needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
    • Acknowledge guest when entering lounge and within 1 minute of being seated.
    • Assist guests with beverage and food selection, demonstrating salesmanship with complete product knowledge. Anticipate, identify, and provide for guest needs.
    • Accurately enter guest order information into POS screen in a timely manner.
    • Take beverage and food orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
    • Adhere to company policy by measuring all drinks and using a jigger.
    • Adhere to benefits pertaining to card membership.
    • Accurately account for and collect payment for all drink orders through POS system in a timely manner.
    • Pour and serve wine and bottled or draft beer. Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
    • Deliver beverage and food orders to guests throughout assigned section in a timely manner.
    • Make routine rounds of assigned section to obtain beverage orders, such as wine, bottled, or draft beers, and non-alcoholic beverages with proper garnishes from guests; provide superior beverage services; and ensure guests ordering and consuming alcoholic beverages are at least 21 years of age.
    • Discretely clear individual settings from guest tables as each course is completed.
    • Maintain dining room by collecting used glassware, silverware, dishes, ashtrays, and debris.
    • Stocking plates, napkins, and silverware on the food bar during meal periods.
    • Provide amenities to guests such as matches and ashtrays.
    • Clean, organize, and stock service area/bar with supplies such as coffee, coasters, glassware, ashtrays, and alcohol using a par sheet to keep supplies to designated par.
    • Clear, clean, stock, and set up dining room tables and bar to VIP standards.
    • Limit problems related to guests’ excessive drinking by providing responsible alcohol service and applying any training from the responsible alcohol certification course.
    • Participate in liquor glassware removal, ensuring compliance with all Gaming Commission regulations.
    • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment. Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
    • Clean bars, work areas, and tables. Order or requisition liquor and supplies.
    • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
    • Required to participate in wearing special event uniforms provided for Holidays and other special occasions deemed by management.
    • Carry out and follow through with preparation and other requirements of all event requests, on and off property.
    • Observe and adhere to Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, proper steam table temperature, and cleanliness of work environment.
    • Abide by all State, State Gaming, Federal and Corporate liquor Regulations. Also pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
    • Use and maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe, and effective manner.
    • Consistent attendance at company/restaurant training programs as they are scheduled.
    • Carry out duties with attention to detail, sanitation, and safety.
    • Complete opening, closing, and other side duties as assigned by Leadership
    • Pass all tests given, including the training, in order to retain the knowledge needed to be an effective server.
    • Perform all job functions assigned by Management in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standards.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must pass the Bartenders Qualification Assessment Test.
    • Must meet the minimum number of Bartending hours required.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain valid gaming registration.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain responsible alcohol service certification.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.

    These skills and abilities are typically acquired through at least 2-years experience directly related to the accountabilities specified.
