Job Description
The Web Illustrator is responsible for generating 2D drawings and 3D models, website illustration updates & maintenance and instructional animations. The illustrator would develop customer drawings and be responsible for recordkeeping of aforementioned documents. This position is located at the Bloomingdale, NJ facility and is an in-person position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all website illustration updates and maintenance.
- Create and present graphical improvements to existing website submittal drawings.
- Maintains library of 3D models and 2D drawings
- Maintains the VMC Group website under the guidance of project manager or supervisor.
- Maintains internal folders for documentation
- Animation
- Takes 3D models and generates animation using Blender, Inventor, & DaVinci Resolve.
- With guidance from supervisor, create the animation for installation instructions of various products.
- Produce marketing videos, images & content as requested by executive team.
- Create full project animations which may include animated figures (i.e. how to pack a truck; lifting a pallet)
- Research requirements for animation development (see above)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proficient with Visio a plus
- Ability to generate 2D design drawings and 3D models
- Ability to generate animation
- Basic ability to read and interpret architectural/mechanical drawings a plus.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical components and understanding of mechanical components function with a focus on form, fit and function.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position in based ON SITE in our Bloomingdale, NJ Corporate office
- Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred AS in Graphic Design, Illustration, Manufacturing Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology a plus.
- 1 to 3 years hands on experience illustrating mechanical components or assemblies consisting of plate & hardware etc...
- Proficiency in Blender, Inventor, AutoCAD 2006 or later.
- Experience using InDesign, Illustrator, Krita, DaVinci Resolve, & 3Ds Max a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proficiency in mechanical design requiring understanding of mechanical components with a focus on form, fit and function.
- Hands on experience with Visio is a plus.
- Experience designing piping assemblies a plus.
- Experience using industry standard material and documentation for research.
- Exposure to ERP systems.
- Experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings a plus.
