    Summary:

    The Deductions & Trade Spend Analyst is responsible for overseeing customer deductions and trade payments to provide accurate analytical information. The Trade Spend Analyst also supports the sales department and works closely with customers to ensure the prompt resolution of customer deductions. This position maintains relationships with brokers and establishes contracts between both parties. This position calculates commissions on a monthly basis.

     

    Essential Duties:

    • Review and analyze supporting documentation to ensure validity of deductions
    • Identify areas of improvement and make recommendations to improve the deduction process
    • Collaborate with Sales Planning Team to ensure appropriate management of sales promotions in TPM (Trade Promotion Management) system
    • Review actualized + forecasted customer trade spend and highlight potential risk and opportunity relative to approved trade spend rates
    • Manage the monthly preparation and distribution of sales finance reporting (trade spend, accruals, pending deductions)
    • Manage broker template alongside the finalized contract
    • Work closely with sales and legal team to ensure contract wording is accurate
    • Create an efficient document for calculating commissions
    • Work closely with the CFO to confirm insurance documents are aligned with company objectives (i.e. vendors, customers, freight, contractors, raw materials, warehouses, recall, commercial package, management liability)
    • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis
    • Calculate and prepare trade accrual while working closely with Analytics Manager to determine promotional activity
    • Accepts responsibility for the organizational goals by taking ownership of new and different duties and identifying new opportunities within the Finance department.

     

    Skills / Qualification / Education:

    • 3-4 years relevant work experience; trade spend and deductions experience in a CPG industry preferred
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
    • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and willing to take the initiative to get things done
    • Strong analytical skills are required
    • Proficient in Excel
    • Ability to be entrepreneurial and methodical
    • Results-oriented and process driven, with high expectations of self and team
    • Collaborative mindset with strength in effectively receiving and communicating feedback
