Responsibilities: • Maintains a thorough knowledge of VMSC’s policies and procedures. • Maintains a clean and organized vehicle and equipment. • Maintains a working knowledge and familiarization of dispatch procedures and can utilize GPS and/or map directions to respond to the incident scene. • Acts as a role model in the perspective that quality patient care and customer service is the core of the organization's task. • Provides guidance to EMS staff regarding patient assessment and treatment with the goal of optimal patient outcome and customer service. • Ability to follow guidance and direction. • Manages rapidly changing situations while maintaining smooth and efficient operations. • Ascertains that all equipment is in good mechanical order. • Ensures adequate supplies are available. • Facilitates the collection of all run reports and perform initial quality assurance review. • Works with other office personnel to fill shifts. • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentations skills). • Must demonstrate an ability to function as an AEMT on scene and during patient transport. Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions. • Write and submit concrete and accurate reports on incidents before the end of shift. • Keep abreast with new treatment and medical procedures through continuous training. • Completes daily chores (i.e., washing vehicles, sweeping, vacuuming, washing dishes, cleaning dormitory restrooms, dusting and generalized facility cleaning, preparing emergency response vehicles for rapid deployment, and other non-routine chores assigned by the supervisor) • Ability to receive feedback, act, and adjust accordingly during and after performance evaluations. Qualifications: AEMT Qualifications / Skills: • Initiative for self-improvement and preparing for additional responsibilities. • Firm understanding of Montgomery Country EMS protocols. • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with fellow employees, hospital staffs, fire units, police departments, communication centers (dispatch), management, neighboring EMS services and the public. • Ability to always act in a professional manner and able to handle conflict and stressful situations with good judgment. • Self-motivated to keep up on new skills, treatments, and protocol trends across the industry. Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: • State driver’s license with clean driving record • Pennsylvania AEMT certification • Current Health Care Provider CPR certification • EVOC & EMSVO (provided if not previously held) • Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 (available online) The VMSC of Lansdale is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
