    Job Description

    Reporting to the CFO, NBC Sports, the **VP, FP &A **is a key leadership role on the NBC Sports finance team, responsible for all financial planning and reporting activities across marquee properties including NBC Sports, NBC Olympics, Sunday Night Football, and the NBA. The role provides the unique opportunity for extensive visibility across NBC Sports’ properties, with collaboration across Business Development, Sports’ programming and production, Ad Sales, Research and Corporate FP&A teams. Led by the VP, FP&A, the Financial Planning and Analysis team is responsible for all planning and estimate cycles and preparation of financial presentations to both Sports senior management and NBCU Corporate teams.

    Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

    • Ownership of deliverables for all planning cycles (budget, quarterly forecasts, long range plans) and quarterly close presentations including communication of variance drivers to budget/prior year
    • Manage financial analysis for all planning cycles – requiring in-depth understanding of submissions, performing trend analysis, identifying risks/opportunities and summarizing key components in presentations to senior management
    • Consolidate and report monthly pacing submissions identifying key drivers, summarizing risks/opportunities and tracking pacing volatility
    • Manage all Stamford C&B; Finance partner to SVP HR on all employee related staffing decisions and organizational projects/analyses
    • Sports finance partner to Corporate FP&A, Media HQ, Ad Sales, CDG, O&T and other matrix organizations, ensuring the accuracy of business assumptions in financial forecasts
    • Finance lead and partner to SpinCo finance on all Sports CSA/TSAs during their existence
    • Financial management of all Stamford based Tax credits including application, submission and audit
    • Partner with Sports Business Development on analyses
    • Review existing systems and processes; Identify opportunities and implement process improvements for automation of planning processes, trend analysis and reporting actuals
    • Lead and develop the team and direct reports
    • Manage and develop a team of 3.
    • Assign/execute on other ad hoc requests as assigned by the CFO
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 12+ years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
    • Demonstrable computer/analysis skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Previous experience in the media and entertainment industry highly preferred.
    • Solid interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
    • Exceptional project management skills with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work across multiple lines of business.
    • Experience with SAP Accounting/Business Warehouse and BPC software a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, CPA, MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting a plus.

    This position has been designated as hybrid , generally contributing from the Stamford, CT office a minimum of three days per week.
