A leading, top brand publicly traded global company based in West Los Angeles is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Financial Reporting to join its Corporate Accounting organization.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing external financial reporting for multiple publicly traded entities.
This role offers significant visibility, cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to influence best-in-class financial reporting, controls, and process improvements across a global platform.
**3 days/week hybrid in office
**$225-$275K (base + full annual bonus)
Responsibilities
- Own the preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports for multiple public entities, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, registration statements, Section 16 filings, and earnings materials, utilizing the Workiva reporting platform
- Lead cross-functional coordination with fund finance and accounting, legal, HR, investor relations, and other corporate finance teams to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent disclosures
- Prepare and review U.S. GAAP financial statement disclosures and manage completion of GAAP disclosure checklists
- Review roll-forwards, drafts, and final versions of SEC filings and related external communications
- Coordinate annual audits and quarterly reviews, serving as a primary point of contact for external audit firms
- Oversee tie-outs and quality control for earnings releases, SEC filings, board materials, and investor presentations
- Perform technical accounting and disclosure research related to new standards, evolving SEC requirements, and complex or non-routine transactions
- Lead the development, coordination, and standardization of internal and external presentations across global finance teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation, technology, and process enhancements
- Ensure a strong internal control environment and ongoing compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
- Develop, mentor, and lead team members, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and professional growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in Accounting a plus
- CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) + industry with substantial SEC reporting exposure
- Deep understanding US GAAP and SEC reporting and disclosure requirements
- Hands-on experience with Workiva highly desirable
- Exposure to Power BI or other business intelligence tools is a plus
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
