    Job Description

    **As a key member of the Labor & Employment Legal team, this role will lead all legal labor strategy and process, providing strategic advice and counsel regarding labor strategy and represent the Company in collective bargaining agreement negotiations. Other responsibilities include handling labor arbitrations, National Labor Relations Board matters and other related labor related litigation for the Company, as well as training and employee relation initiatives. In addition, this role will also support the overall employment legal group and advise on general employment matters. This role offers the unique opportunity to build the labor and employment function of a newly formed media company. **

    Job Duties

    • Provide legal advice and representation on labor matters advising on collective bargaining, grievance procedures, and labor relations
    • Represent Company in collective bargaining agreement negotiations
    • Interpret collective bargaining agreements, respond to union inquires, grievances and disputes
    • Partner with HR and Labor Relations on various matters involving represented employees
    • Act as legal counsel in union grievances, labor arbitrations, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board
    • Provide production support for scripted and unscripted programming
    • Assist with the development of labor strategy and policies
    • Advise management, Human Resources and other SpinCo lawyers with respect to all employment and labor law issues, including: business restructures, employment policy development and application, worker classification, reasonable accommodations, workforce management, discrimination and harassment claims, wage-and-hour and workplace safety, including as it relates to the union workforce.
    • Manage and support outside counsel in collective bargaining agreements and employment matters
    • Design, plan and facilitate employee training
    • Advise and train business leaders and develop bespoke training content
    • Oversee, conduct and provide counsel on investigations of employment-related and other types of complaints, ensuring that claims are addressed promptly, thoroughly and appropriately to assess legal and business risk
    • Conduct legal research and analysis of complex legal issues with capacity to present to stakeholders regarding the same
    • Monitor federal, state and local legal developments and advise on compliance
    • Represent Spinco, including working with other Spinco lawyers and outside counsel as appropriate, in mediations and litigation of employment claims
    • Advise on the employment-related aspects of acquisitions, dissolution and dispositions of businesses
    • Draft settlement and separation agreements, mediation briefs, and EEOC and/or local agency position statements and responses
    • Create and deliver management and employee training programs

    • Law degree
    • Member in good standing of the State Bar of NY, or member in good standing of another State Bar and registered as in-house counsel
    • Minimum of 10 years labor and employment law experience in-house and at a top tier law firm
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience with entertainment industry labor unions or labor relations of similar complexity
    • Deep experience in entertainment industry labor relations and as chief spokesperson in union contract negotiations
    • Labor relations experience, including grievance processing, handling labor arbitrations, and matters before the National Labor Relations Board
    • Outstanding analytic, communication and organizational skills
    • Collaborative, team-oriented approach
    • Ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effectively
    • Collaborative, team-oriented approach
    • Ability to liaise multi-function teams from diverse business units
    • Ability to build consensus, think creatively, and proactively identify Company needs with regard to labor relations matters
    • Ability to build relationships across a large organization

    Additional Requirements

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.
