The Opportunity

They’re looking for a Head of Engineering / VP of Engineering to lead the build-out of their U.S. engineering organization in New York City. You’ll partner closely with the CEO — a successful founder with a prior healthcare exit — and a technical lead in India to scale the company’s AI automation platform across the healthcare ecosystem.
You’ll be both a strategic leader and a hands-on builder, comfortable translating product vision into scalable systems — and rolling up your sleeves when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Build and lead the engineering organization in New York (first 10+ hires).
• Collaborate with product and business leadership to translate operational pain points into technical opportunities.
• Work closely with the engineering team in India to align architecture, velocity, and quality.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of intelligent automation products using React, Python, and TypeScript.
• Establish best practices for CI/CD, testing, and scalability as the company continues to grow 30%+ month over month.
• Remain technical and hands-on — able to dive into architecture, design, or code when needed.
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure engineering is a business enabler, not just a service function.

What You Bring

• 8–12+ years of software engineering experience, including 3–5+ in a leadership capacity.
• Experience scaling a team from early-stage (seed / Series A) through growth.
• Strong technical foundation across React, Python, and TypeScript (AI/ML familiarity a plus).
• Track record of shipping complex, data-driven or automation-heavy products.
• Deep empathy for product and user experience — you think in outcomes, not just features.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills; thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment.
