    Position Overview:

    The Coordinator will assist a Division Director in managing grant programming that promotes healthy marriage and relationships and responsible and engaged fatherhood (programming is called “Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood,” or HMRF). We currently fund 110 HMRF grant projects, and, in FY 2023, over 25,000 people completed an HMRF program operated by one of these 110 grant projects. Under direction from the Division Director, the Coordinator will provide a full range of stakeholder engagement and communications activities that will support Division policy and processes, outreach and program engagement efforts, as well as provide office support. Ultimately, the Coordinator’s role will support the U.S. Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families’ (ACF) efforts to strengthen fathers, families, and youth across the nation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Stakeholder engagement:

    • Assist in building the Division’s engagement profile. Engage in cross-programmatic opportunities to connect initiatives and messaging across the organizations.

    • Develop communication and outreach materials, such as PowerPoint presentations and emails, based on audience and objective

    • Assist with stakeholder identification and engagement support, including developing responses to both external and internal stakeholders

    • Prepare a variety of written materials in response to inquiries from senior management or other staff – communicate effectively via email; assimilate information and summarize; prepare talking points; develop or summarize read aheads; etc.

    • Communications:

    • Develop and manage communications for the HMRF leadership

    • Develop and conduct strategic, effective, and user-centric communication campaigns

    • Policy, process, and recommendations:

    • Analyze emerging priorities and develop policies and procedures as needed

    • Assist in conducting basic data analysis (e.g. looking for trends across activities; e.g. basic statistics, such as averages, in Excel), drafting report sections, and providing support to execute organizational, management and business process initiatives.

    • Support the development of solutions, recommendations, or targeted outcomes.

    • Office support and processes:

    • Conduct office support activities, such as arranging meetings, taking notes, making copies, etc.

    • Support in the processes of travel reservations, authorizations, and vouchers for staff in the Division

    • Incorporate charts and graphics into various documents using basic graphic design skills (e.g. in Excel)

    • Advanced desktop publishing skills – i.e. Outlook, mail-merge, etc.

    • Serves in mid-level team roles and assists project managers. Applies subject matter knowledge, principles and methods to assist in conducting studies, analyzing data, drafting sections of reports and providing support for organizational, management and process improvement initiatives. Assists project managers by generating drafts of project reports and providing management support for projects. Supports the development of solutions, recommendations or outcomes.

    • Proposes and implements processes to review grantee performance, as well as conducts regular check-in meetings with grantees, reviews reports submitted by grantees, analyzes data provided by grantees, and reports-out to OFA on grantee performance

    • Proposes and implements processes to review technical reports, as well as reviews technical reports or similar products related to grantees, assesses the quality of the reports and their findings, and reports-out to OFA on the assessment.

    • Proposes and implements methods to track contract/grant activities in relation to expected schedules and requirements.

    • Proposes and implements state-of-the-art dissemination strategies, such as identifying and executing methods to improve OFA web pages, developing and implementing strategies to improve OFA presence on social media, improving e-blast strategies, etc. (for this work, staff may need proficiency with one or more of the following: Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe Creative Cloud, Tableau Creator, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and social media management tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, Tweet Deck, and Sprout Social).

    • Proposes and implements processes to track financial information (e.g., on grants or contracts), analyze cost data, and produce financial reports to leadership.

    • Other duties as assigned (e.g., ad hoc activities to address management needs).

    • Oversight: This individual is junior-to-mid-level personnel capable of carrying out some independent assignments with moderate supervision or acting as leader of small projects.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree (Preferred)

    • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in technical activities related to grant/contract/project management and oversight, dissemination, strategic communication support, and associated tasks

    • At least one (1) year of experience in direct support to OFA or related human services programming

    • U.S. Citizenship required
