We are seeking a WEB DESIGNER to join our diverse and talented team.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The WEB DESIGNER will create and maintain the design and layout to support the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This position will be responsible for production, layout, copy editing, technical editing assistance, and adherence to SAMHSA and Government Publishing Office requirements for preparing print packages and/or conversion to a variety of eBook formats.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meet with internal stakeholders to define requirements
• Prepare design plans and website structure
• Test and improve the design of the website
• Establish design guidelines, standards, and best practices
• Maintain the appearance of website by enforcing content standards
• Design visual imagery for website and ensure that they are in line with agency branding guidelines
• Communicate design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps, and wireframes
• Incorporate functionalities and features into websites
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in web design, user experience design, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of design systems, Information Architecture principles and best practices around design
• Strong understanding of content management systems
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
• U.S. Citizenship required
