    Position Summary

    Bright Stars Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced VPK Teacher to lead our voluntary pre-kindergarten program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, at least 3 years of classroom teaching experience, and a passion for guiding young learners toward kindergarten readiness. This role requires creativity, structure, and the ability to foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan, develop, and implement Florida-approved VPK curriculum and lesson plans that address all domains of early learning.

    Conduct daily classroom instruction and age-appropriate activities that encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

    Maintain accurate attendance records, student progress reports, and assessments as required by the Florida VPK program.

    Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that supports exploration and growth.

    Collaborate with parents, guardians, and staff to ensure each child's success and well-being.

    Participate in professional development and training sessions to stay current with VPK standards and teaching best practices.

    Ensure compliance with Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) regulations, licensing standards, and safety protocols.

    Supervise classroom aides or assistants, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.

    Qualifications

    Minimum 3 years of early childhood teaching experience (VPK or pre-K preferred).

    Valid Florida VPK Teaching Credential (CDA or higher).

    Completion of 45 DCF training hours and up-to-date CPR/First Aid Certification.

    Strong knowledge of early childhood curriculum design and developmentally appropriate practices.

    Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

    Ability to maintain a professional and positive relationship with children, parents, and colleagues.

    Preferred Skills

    Familiarity with assessment tools such as GOLD or HighScope.

    Experience with lesson planning and integrating technology into early learning.

    Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
