Job Description

Vac Pac, Inc. is a Baltimore based packaging converter providing our customers with a variety of flexible food packaging products, including custom printed and laminated polyethylene, thermoforming films, high barrier shrink films, and cook in materials. Established in 1949, our products are featured on name brands in supermarkets around the globe, and we are excited to offer this opportunity to join our team!

Position: Sales

Compensation: Base + Commission 

RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties to include but not limited to)

BASE ACCOUNT MAINTENANCE AND DEVELOPMENT

Maintenance and development of established accounts

Increase demand for current products

Assist customers with packaging design

Develop and maintain high level of contact

OPEN NEW BUSINESS SEGMENTS

CREATE NEW BUSINESS IN TARGET MARKETS WITH KEY ACCOUNTS

Consistent, effective prospecting and qualifying

Follow up with correspondence, samples and visits to plant where applicable

Develop and deliver effective sales presentations

Establish and maintain long term customer relationships

Develop and negotiate competitive pricing strategies

Market products at trade events and conferences

Maintain awareness of competitors’ products and services

Maintain progressive level of achievement and growth

Handle customer complaints, evaluate problems and follow through with RMA procedure

STRATEGIC PLANNING

Prepare ongoing market analysis, monitor shifts in customer preferences, competitive movements,

global sourcing and emerging markets

Make recommendations on product development, services, pricing

Make recommendations on growth potential per product

Select target markets for specific products

Assist in advertising and promotional development

Assist in design in printed literature

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Professional appearance and manner

Excellent communication skills

5 years of previous industry sales experience strongly preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office software

Must be able to travel frequently as required (US Domestic)
