Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Operating Room Technician Facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.

Required Skills

High School diploma or general education degree required; Graduate of Surgical Technology school strongly preferred; six months related experience required, CST certification preferred. One year perioperative services experience strongly preferred. Must have basic computer skills (eg, Microsoft® Word).

A minimum of BLS is required. BLS must be obtained within 30 days of hire. BLS must be renewed per BLS guidelines and up to date. The employee has 30 days from expiration to renew.
