    TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is a private par-70, 7,139-yard course located in Montgomery County, MD, less than 20 miles from the nation’s capital. This championship golf course, formerly known as TPC Avenel, was a familiar stop on the PGA TOUR for several years. The golf course enjoyed a historic renovation in 2008 under the direction of PGA TOUR Design Services and the result is a drastically different layout which showcases the natural rolling terrain, bentgrass tees, fairways and greens, fescue grasses, and Scottish-style bunkering.

     

    TPC POTOMAC AT AVENEL FARM is currently seeking a FULL-TIME EQUIPMENT OPERATOR.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean, organized, and safe.
    • Clean machinery after each use.
    • Inspect all machines and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Technician.
    • Perform other functions and routine golf course maintenance activities as directed by the Director of Agronomy, or Assistant Golf Course Superintendents.

     

     QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

    • Some experience preferred

    • Must be able to arrive at work at or before 5:00 am
    • At least 18 years of age

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Ensure a safe work environment at all times by following all safety standards and wear all required PPE (Steel Toe boots, glasses, hearing protection, gloves, clothing, etc.)
    • Learn, adhere, and apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to provide and maintain a high quality standard
    • Learn about and participate in accomplishing Harbison-Fischer’s strategy through participation in daily team meetings
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement Program
    • Understand and operate all machines and equipment within the department
    • Cross-train on multiple pieces of equipment and processes to maximize capabilities and productivity
    • Rotate as needed among all necessary processes
    • Assist other team members to produce what is needed, when it is needed as determined by customer demand
    • Read and follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete work according to proper product specifications
    • Read and understand product specifications, drawings, and prints
    • Use hand-held measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures to inspect and measure parts for accuracy and conformance to product specifications
    • Perform repetitive motions throughout process
    • Stay on task to complete activities
    • Participate in continuous training in Lean, Kaizen, PDCA, and other principles of Operational Excellence
    • Lead or participate in PDCAs as assigned or identified
    • Work Overtime as needed
    • Perform all other duties as assigned
