    GENERAL SUMMARY

    The Bilingual Admissions & Outreach Representative works under the direction of the Director of Admissions & Outreach. The primary function is to represent Front Range Community College – Larimer Campus by encouraging students to enroll at the college. This position will have an emphasis in outreach and enrollment opportunities for High School populations specifically focusing on the Poudre School District/Fort Collins schools, serving as a resource for future students and monolingual Spanish-speaking families to reduce barriers to success by expanding support for students from diverse backgrounds throughout their journey with FRCC. They, along with Admissions department colleagues, will be responsible for conducting outreach and recruiting efforts to future students in the Larimer Campus service area working to achieve the goals established in the Campus Outreach Plan, in alignment with college wide enrollment goals.

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES

    • Recruit traditional and non-traditional age students focusing specifically on underrepresented & Latinx populations and their families.
    • Cultivate relationships with schools grades K-12, as well as with community organizations serving traditional age students and their families in the Larimer County service area to promote the benefits of FRCC, including educational opportunities, campus resources, campus events, and scholarships. Partner with the LC Coordinator of Outreach & Enrollment in these efforts.
    • Follow-up with prospective students and their supporters to provide assistance or refer them to necessary resources for successful enrollment at FRCC.
    • Facilitate regularly scheduled workshops for parents on how to prepare for their student to start attending college such as supporting academic achievement at home, college admissions, financial aid and COF, and FAFSA. This could be in partnership with campus colleagues and/or the Coordinator of Outreach & Enrollment.
    • Provide support for students with limited English skills who want to participate in ESL courses or developmental education courses from inquiry and testing to registration and payment.
    • Assist and participate in collaborative departmental efforts and programming related to the student onboarding and orientation process driven by the student success initiatives
    • Participate broadly in enrollment and outreach efforts as directed by the Director of Admissions & Outreach
    • Support and facilitate the broader communication of FRCC as a Pathways College related to marketing and promoting the student experience and culture
    • Collaborate with Student Affairs & Instructional departments, under the direction of the Director of Admissions & Outreach, to support the campus community in enrollment and retention initiatives.
    • Disseminate college and program informational material to prospective and/or continuing students through presentations at on and off campus venues, such as college and community fairs/events, community agency meetings, and businesses.
    • Assist students with the enrollment process, including completion of admissions application/required forms and review for accuracy, authenticity, and timeliness of information; assist with class registration, financial aid, and payments.
    • Plan and/or contribute to recruitment events on campus, possibly including, but not limited to, open houses, exploration nights, large group visits, parent events, and presentations for community organizations and partners.
    • Serve as Spanish language interpreter/point of contact for students who need to access services in other Student Affairs departments, clarifying procedures and practices.  Refer students to appropriate resources as needed.
    • Collaborate with other bilingual staff and community members through the Bilingual Committee for translation accuracy of marketing materials & communication for the communities FRCC serves college-wide.
    • Assist in the ongoing development and revision of the Campus Outreach Plan to increase the diversity of our student body and achieve enrollment goals.
    • Serve on campus and community committees related to future students and college promotion, as well as target population outreach and retention as requested or assigned.
    • Collect & enter ROI and event data using the departmental monthly report as well as Recruit/CRM to document events, inquiries, reach out to students, etc per departmental expectations and deadlines.
    • Travel frequently to local area schools, agencies, events, and other campuses by personal vehicle.
    • Provide back-up frontline coverage for the Welcome Desk and Call Center during peak times.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION

    • Master’s degree in Education, Student Affairs in Higher Education, or related field.

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Experience in higher education enrollment processes, programs, and services and/or education or experiences from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
    • Experience working with diverse populations and cultures.
    • Experience planning and organizing events as well as with presenting/public speaking.
    • Strong computer software skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Professional working proficiency to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
    • General knowledge of the principles and practices of admissions, recruitment, retention and financial aid.
    • Ability to adapt verbal and written communications to various audiences.
    • Flexibility to work within a changing environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal, relationship, communication, organizational, and promotional skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with high school staff, college faculty and staff, students, prospective students and their families, other higher education institutions, and the community.
    • Highly-motivated, self-starting, and enthusiastic.
    • Competence managing multiple tasks and completing priorities.
    • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
    • Must have reliable transportation and ability to haul materials and equipment to and from events.
    • Must be able to drive to events in varying weather conditions during days/evenings

     

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

    • Two (2) years’ experience working in a community college setting; event management, program development, social media/mobile technology, marketing, orientation, recruitment & outreach, public relations, training, experience working with diverse populations, experience working with middle & high school students.
    • Experience in higher education enrollment processes, programs, and services.
    • Ability to set and reach enrollment goals.
