    SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing selected clerical and administrative services under the direction of the Charge Nurse. In addition to facilitating the center operations and care to our patients/residents requiring sub-acute, long term and/or rehabilitation care. The Medical Assistant will also, support the Company''s mission, vision, core values, and provide excellent customer service to associates, residents, visitors and guests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide selected clerical and administrative services that facilitate the center operations.
    • Answer the phones and conduct positive phone calls on a regular basis.
    • Promptly respond to resident concerns, complaints, or questions, in a positive, helpful and professional manner

    • Copy and scan documents from patient/residents medical records, as needed.
    • Transcribe physician''s orders, completing requests and referrals.
    • Maintain and update data entry of patients/residents information in Point Click Care (PCC) on a daily basis.
    • Assure clerical tasks related to admissions, transfers, discharges, and room changes of patients/residents are completed accurately and timely.
    • Schedule & un-schedule appointments to include, but not limited to: outside appointments, transportation, discharges, transfers to and from the hospitals, and out-patient procedures.
    • Conduct tours of the center for patient/resident families in a professional manner, as needed. Complete tasks permitted in the scope of practice allowed in the SNF.
    • Promptly inform appropriate nursing personnel if there is a concern about the health, safety, or wellbeing of a resident.

    • Assist the Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, and/or Admissions department with special projects, as needed.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT:

    • Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, and moving intermittently during working hours.
    • Works in well lighted/ventilated office areas of the center
    • Subject to frequent interruptions and distractions
    • Willing to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily, as needed.
    • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
    • Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Create and maintain an organized, efficient work environment.
    • Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families, and outside agencies and to work cooperatively with other associates.
    • May be subject to infectious diseases, substances, contaminated articles, cuts, bruises, falls, odors, etc.
    • Must be able to function independently, have personal integrity, have flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with or without other personnel and co-workers.
    • Ability to remain calm and cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Adhere to all Company and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate of Science (A.S.) degree or Diploma in related field; along with, Medical Assistant Certification.
    • Be a minimum of 18 years of age and of good moral character.
    • Experience with core software applications, including Kronos, and PCC is preferred, but not required.
    • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance as required.
    • Be able to follow and/or provide strong communication skills effectively through written and oral delivery in a manner appropriate for a healthcare/office setting.
    • Be able to problem solve, if needed.
    • Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment exam, if required.
