As a result, we are looking for experienced nursing educators with a passion for both the medical industry and teaching to join our institution.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRACTICAL NURSING INSTRUCTOR:

• Training students to become licensed Practical Nurses
• Develop lesson plans that include lecture and/or lab delivery methods, assignments/activities, homework, and evaluation tools for assigned classes as designated by the curriculum provided by Valley College.
• Instruct and guide students in the classroom and/or lab learning environment, as designated by the Valley College curriculum.
• Demonstrate procedures/processes and operate appropriate equipment as designated by the curriculum.
• Grade and evaluate students' work in a timely manner and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist and tutor students with areas of the curriculum with which they are having difficulty.
• Keep accurate and up to date progress reports on students’ work.
• Compile reports/updates on students as required.
• Provide telephone and/or email follow-up with students as requested.
• Maintain a cooperative and professional learning environment.
• Course Development
• Conduct on-going evaluation of course material.
• Participate in the selection of books and material.
• Maintain current tests, assignments and course syllabi.
• Attend scheduled faculty meetings and in-service workshops.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Practical Nursing faculty members must hold the following:

• Completion of an approved registered nursing education program in a jurisdiction as defined in paragraph (R) of rule 4723-5-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code
• Experience for at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse
• A baccalaureate degree in nursing
• Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio
• Ongoing Professional Development
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate students
