    Long Road Risk Management Services is a new joint venture between Valmark Financial Group and Sequoia Financial Group aimed at delivering industry-leading insurance solutions to our Member Offices and their clients. Long Road will apply advisory best practice standards to life insurance in creating alignment with the client’s overall wealth management and protection plan in a manner that is consistent with Valmark’s “Life Insurance 10X” philosophy.

    Long Road Risk Management is currently seeking an intern to assist with day-to-day life insurance case design and ongoing policy management to support our Member Offices with their clients. 

    Job Summary:

    The Risk Management Intern will be responsible for supporting Long Road’s life insurance activity ranging from case design to in-force policy management. Working closely with internal resources, the Insurance Planning Intern will help to ensure the accurate and timely completion of in force policy service requests, delivery of annual policy reviews and the submission of new business requirements. Further, this individual will work closely with the Long Road advisors to assist in the case design process as it relates to requesting and running life insurance quotes. Physically located in the Valmark Financial Group building, the Risk Management Intern reports directly to the Insurance Planner.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate the tracking and implementation of in-force policy changes and service requests
    • Become educated on life insurance products and planning concepts by working with insurance companies to study products and industry trends
    • Assist in the requesting of life insurance quotes and planning tools from VFG
    • Help to coordinate the completion and submission of new business paperwork
    • Build effective relationships with VFG companies to leverage life insurance expertise and service capabilities
    • Assist in the policy issuing process to ensure timely delivery of new life insurance contracts

    Requirements:

    Must be currently enrolled in college seeking a degree. Open to various majors, such as Business Administration, Finance, and Insurance & Risk Management. Must be available to commit 15-25 hours per week during the spring/fall semesters and 25-40 hours per week during the summer months.
