    JOB SUMMARY

    The New Business Specialist actively manages and facilitates the smooth and efficient processing of life insurance applications through the new business and underwriting process at Valmark’s insurance company partners. The New Business Specialist provides world class customer service by acting as an advocate on behalf of Valmark’s clients to achieve timely processing of their life insurance cases and favorable underwriting and new business outcomes.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage life insurance cases throughout the entire span of the application process, including reviewing applications for completeness and accuracy, providing timely communication updates, navigating and resolving issues, completing quality reviews, and acting as a liaison between our clients and the insurance companies.
    • Actively build mutually beneficial relationships with Valmark’s clients, internal team members, and insurance company contacts.
    • Provide high-quality customer service by investigating and resolving issues and negotiating creative solutions agreeable to all parties.
    • Develop a good understanding of life insurance companies’ processes and underwriting guidelines, with the goal of being viewed by our clients as a new business expert.
    • Advocate on behalf of our clients with the insurance companies in a manner that is consumer and sales friendly to achieve the most favorable underwriting and new business outcome.
    • Skillfully promote pre-determined initiatives to increase usage, adoption, and awareness.
      • Develop a strong understanding of Valmark systems and resources.
      • Assist with projects that provide value to Life Insurance New Business Team.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Windows-based software experience

     

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Experience in the Financial Services or related industry
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
    • Life & Health Insurance License
    • FINRA Series 6 & 63 Securities Licenses

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This is a largely sedentary role. It may involve repetitive motions in the hands/wrists as this role is dependent on consistent computer-use during the workday.

     

    POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    Days and typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in working hours is allowed, but the employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
