    Job Description

    Position Summary

    This critical role drives outcomes for the VBP by defining, tracking, and optimizing product value. The focus is on KPI definition, product performance measurement, reporting, and insights. The Data Product Manager collaborates with product teams to leverage data for decision-making, feature development, and business performance. Over time, this role will guide the full product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with VBP objectives and market needs.

    Ideal Candidate

    • 7+ years in data-focused roles, developing and measuring healthcare products
    • Expertise in data collection, analysis, ROI analysis, and financial modeling
    • Familiar with product development lifecycle and value-based care dynamics
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
    • Understanding of actuarial science and healthcare datasets
    • The Data Product Manager will report to the Head of Insights and Analytics.

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Product Strategy Development

    • Define Product Vision: Aligns data needs with business objectives.
    • Research: Identifies trends, tools, and customer feedback to drive innovation in VBP solutions.
    • Strategic Planning: Collaborates on data-enabled products and features that support business goals.

    Roadmap Development

    • Product Roadmap: Updates roadmap with key features and timelines to reflect product strategy.
    • Prioritization: Uses data to prioritize features, balancing patient/provider needs, business value, and technical feasibility.

    Requirements Gathering

    • Collect Requirements: Gathers business, user, and compliance requirements from various methods.
    • Specification Support: Refines functional specifications to guide development teams.

    Product Development and Execution

    • Oversee Development: Manages product development ensuring timely, on-budget delivery.
    • Iterative Feedback: Supports agile processes to integrate feedback and make necessary adjustments.

    Leadership of Interdisciplinary Teams

    • Team Empowerment: Fosters accountability and collaboration across functions.
    • Performance Alignment: Aligns team objectives with business goals.
    • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Ensures alignment with teams in engineering, data, marketing, and customer support.

    Performance Monitoring and Improvement

    • Product Performance: Monitors KPIs and metrics to optimize product performance.
    • Product Reporting: Develops processes to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
    • Product Insights: Translates data into business insights for internal teams.
    • Continuous Improvement: Supports product optimization through feedback loops.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Engage Stakeholders: Maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including executives and partners.
    • Executive Presence: Communicates product plans, milestones, and feedback to stakeholders.
    • Provider and Patient Advocacy: Ensures product decisions reflect provider and patient needs.

    Risk Management

    • Identify and Mitigate Risks: Addresses challenges in product development and market adoption.
    • Spike Management: Balances resources to mitigate risk and meet priorities.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum seven (7) years of experience as a Data Product Manager or similar role in product development
    • Bachelor’s Degree OR four (4) additional years directly related experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems Management, Engineering, Statistics, Finance or related fields

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Expertise in analyzing large data sets and using data platforms/tools for analysis and reporting (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
    • Experience with leading approaches for data acquisition, management, quality, security, ethics, regulations, and governance, preferably within the healthcare industry.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) to translate data into insights and actionable strategies.
    • Experience within healthcare, especially value-based care and multi-payer, multi-provider environments.
    • Familiarity with success measures and analytics used by payers and providers.
    • Familiarity with actuarial approaches to quantify risk and financial implications of decisions.
    • Familiarity with AI/ML usage in healthcare.
    • Familiarity with the product development lifecycle (phases, activities, ceremonies, tools).
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary, results-oriented environment, managing competing priorities effectively.

    • This position has a preliminary projected target base salary of $137,780 - $182,600 which is subject to change as additional market data is acquired. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive wellness, time off, savings and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package for employees at Risant Health.
