    Job Description

    The Associate may be a full-time or part-time, interim or long-term member of the Valve Capital Partners team. Valve Capital Partners is a LMM focused firm and is currently transitioning from Commercial Real Estate focused transactions to Industrials and Manufacturing as our thesis for the next decade. IN THE LAST FEW YEARS WE HAVE COMPLETED OVER $100 MILLION IN REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS.

    Our future team member will find an invigorating and rewarding opportunity to be part of all aspects of the private equity investment process, from adding value to portfolio companies, to sourcing, evaluating, financing, and completing new platform and add-on investments.

    The Associate will spend his/her time in three general areas: (i) sector and company research to identify platform and add-on investment targets and prospective value-added advisors; (ii) new investment and financing/refinancing deal execution; and (iii) internal initiatives to build value inside the firm and at portfolio companies. New deal research and execution will typically be the majority of an individual’s experience and comprise the following broad areas:

    • New sector and company research including (1) reviewing primary and third-party research and expert reports/analysis, (2) synthesizing facts and insights, and (3) developing a database of prospective targets, industry experts and potential executives;
    • Modeling and financial analyses;
    • Participation in the workplanning and coordination of business and 3rd party due diligence processes;
    • Written correspondence and presentation development to support (a) investment committee review, (b) financing processes, and (c) limited partner communications;
    • Participation in the development of an operating blueprint for strategic post-closing value addition in partner companies.

    The Valve Capital Partners approach is to be a hands-on, value-added investor and business-builder. Therefore, we spend a meaningful amount of time working with portfolio companies. Portofolio company monitoring and management is often a very rewarding part of the job.
