As a Category Buyer your main responsibilities will be:

• Review vendors and items to place purchase orders as needed
• Review, manage, approve and implement price changes with the Category Lead
• Review and recommend forward buys to the Purchasing Manager
• Collaborate with Category Leads to assure vendor and broker accountability.
• Understand, review, and collaborate to utilize the best freight option
• Manage communications effectively
• Collaborate with the Category Lead to fulfill the Category goals and objectives
• Collaborate with the Category Lead to assure predictably consistent quality for all products received and shipped
• Collaborate with the Category Lead to fulfill the Category goals and objectives.

The qualified candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain concepts, multi-tasking, analytical application, communications, team approach, computer skills, and a mathematical aptitude. We are looking for someone with 2+ years of experience involved in category management or purchasing preferred, but are also willing to train. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
