Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience as a licensed attorney, as well as strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities: Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently • Produce high-quality work product that is in keeping with the standards of our firm's reputation • Attend and notate case review meetings to plan out strategies, timelines, and to-do's • Investigate cases and fact develop • Assist with preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials • Resolve cases by effectively communicating with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals Qualifications: Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school Successful completion of the bar exam Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Licensed between 1-5 years • A license to practice law in Texas is required • Personal Injury experience required, Medical Malpractice experience preferred • An "A" level individual who can efficiently work a docket and help resolve cases • Must be willing to learn and consider criticism as an opportunity for growth • Impeccable time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required • Must be a motivated self-starter who can work both independently and with a team • Medical Malpractice experience is preferred but not required • Applicants who are seriously interested are required to complete the affiliated DISC assessment in order to be considered • This is an in-office position. Candidates applying for a remote position will not be considered. Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 BOE
