    Job Summary

    We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Van Driver to join our team in Carteret, NJ.     Key Responsibilities

    • Operate company van safely and efficiently to transport goods, materials, or personnel to designated locations
    • Execute assigned routes and delivery schedules while maintaining punctuality and reliability
    • Load and unload cargo systematically, ensuring all items are properly secured and protected during transport
    • Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance
    • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all transported items and completed routes
    • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery status and any issues
    • Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and Department of Transportation regulations
    • Provide exceptional customer service during pickups and deliveries, representing the company professionally

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid driver's license with clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3 years)
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading
    • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
    • Reliable attendance and punctuality
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Basic understanding of vehicle safety and maintenance procedures

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience as a delivery driver or in transportation industry
    • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or willingness to obtain
    • Experience with GPS navigation systems and route planning
    • Customer service experience in a professional environment
    • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish preferred)
    • Familiarity with the Carteret, NJ area and surrounding regions

    Technical Skills

    • Proficient use of GPS navigation systems and mobile applications
    • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (checking fluids, tire pressure, etc.)
    • Ability to operate hand trucks, dollies, and other loading equipment
    • Understanding of cargo securing techniques and safety protocols
    • Electronic logging and documentation systems
    • Two-way radio communication systems

    Working Conditions

    This Van Driver position requires working in various weather conditions and involves frequent sitting, driving, and physical activity related to loading and unloading cargo. The role may require flexible scheduling including early morning starts, and occasional overtime during peak periods. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time on the road, representing our company in the community.
