We are looking for someone that is well-rounded. Technical skills are as important to us as interpersonal qualities, and we place a high premium on being able to communicate well and convey complex technical information to clients that don’t have a technical background.

This role is a perfect fit for someone with a server and/or network infrastructure background that has a security mindset to monitor and report threat events for our clients. Daily you will be involved in security operations center work, performing vulnerability assessments, running vulnerability scans, and meeting with clients. We will provide an environment where you can learn and grow, and we will challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone.

WHAT SKILLS DO WE THINK A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL LIKELY POSSESS?

1. Working knowledge of Microsoft and Linux server and workstation operating systems
2. Understanding of networking fundamentals including packets, protocols, related applications, and troubleshooting
3. Programming and/or scripting skills
4. 1-2 years' working experience in information security.
5. Well-developed interpersonal skills
6. Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
7. Bachelor’s degree in the Arts or Sciences, or equivalent job experience.
8. Cybersecurity certifications a plus.
9. Adept analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to solve complex problems

THE PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Monitoring, triaging, and ticketing of customer security events
2. Ability to understand and communicate successful versus unsuccessful intrusion attempts
3. Performing vulnerability assessments utilizing and improving Vancord’s established processes and methodologies
4. Performing vulnerability scans and delivering results to clients
5. Conducting security Program Maturity Assessments
6. Participating in cyber incident response activities
7. Creating and maintaining standard operating procedures and other similar documentation
8. Promoting security awareness among associates
