GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accounts Receivable Representative position is responsible for accurate processing of customer payments, collections and reconciliation of customer accounts including deduction resolution. This position requires a knowledge of general accounting procedures and a high level of organization.

PRINCIPAL ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Retrieve incoming payments from bank website.

· Apply customer payments to appropriate accounts within accounting software.

· Apply deductions to customer accounts.

· Review and resolve deductions for short, damaged, pricing and other customer related claims.

· Reconcile deductions against approved customer invoices.

· Collections activity on past due invoices and invalid deductions.

· File disputes on customer portals for invalid deductions.

· Communication with Senior Accounting and Finance Manager on any problem accounts.

· Work with Senior Customer Service Manager to maintain customer marketing programs.

· Pull invoice backup from customer websites, investigate and resolve.

· Complete miscellaneous tasks as directed

REQUIREMENTS

· Excellent problem solving and time management skills.

· Knowledge of Excel at intermediate level.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.

· Basic mathematical skills

· Ability to work both individually and as a team

· Strong organizational skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

· Ability to adapt to changing priorities

· Minimum of two years in related field preferred
