Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, Inc. is currently looking for an experienced pipefitter that is interested in installing and maintaining pipes for fire protection systems throughout Michigan and the Midwest.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Cut, thread, and fit pipe to project specifications using Rigid tools

Utilize Sky and Scissor lifts to install pipes overhead

Read blueprints to plan pipe layout and make the right equipment accommodations to complete the job on time

Measure and mark pipes for cutting and fabrication

Fit pipes using Victaulic clamps and brackets

Be versatile to install both overhead and underground systems, be able to tie pipes into a variety of water sources

Work independently and within a team, provide training and guidance to entry level pipefitters when appropriate

Qualifications:

Should have previous plumbing or piping experience in industrial or commercial environments

Previous construction experience is preferred

Experience using a variety of hand tools including pipe wrenches, impact drivers, drills, pipe threaders, and groovers- Rigid tools are preferred

Trade School or previous apprenticeship experience is a plus

Have excellent mechanical skills and be able to work from blueprints

Maintain strong attention to detail while in a physically demanding environment
