As a Tool and Die Machinist with us, you will get to use blueprints to determine project specifications, set up and operate machine tools, finish, and adjust parts and test tools to ensure quality standards are met. You will also get to make use of your outstanding mechanical and mathematical skills while crafting tools and dies.

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

• Read sketches, blueprints, and specificationsto plan operations for the fabrication of dies, tools, and assemblies, ensuring safety and maximumefficiency.
• Verify dimensions of finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers, and micrometers
• Utilize conventional machining equipment to repair and modify jigs, and dies
• Work with engineer to help designtemplates and jigs to solve problems during production process
• Troubleshoot problems and perform repairs on tools, manually operated dies, and progressivedies.
• Select the appropriate metals and materials to be used based on properties, ensuring they meet project specifications

You should be proficient in:

• Blueprint Reading
• Manual Machining Skills
• Tool/Die/Mold Repair Skills
• Tool/Die/Mold Setup Experience

Machines & technologies you'll use:

• CNC Lathe (2-4 axis)
• Jig Grinder
• CAM Software
• CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)

Salary info:

$28 - $35 / hr
