Vantage Point Solutions, a growing and dynamic broadband consulting and engineering firm, is seeking qualified individuals to join our team of professionals. We have immediate openings for Engineering Staff team members at our headquarters in Mitchell, SD. Positions are available for individuals with and without engineering degrees and backgrounds. Remote work opportunities may be available and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
What You'll Be Doing
Engineering Staff work with colleagues and clients to usher projects through various stages, from start to finish. The types of projects may include multi-year, phased construction projects; grant applications with tight deadlines; federal auctions; and other initiatives.
As an Engineering Staff team member, you will work as a bridge between onsite boots-on-the-ground staff, contractors, and technical engineering plans, helping bring projects from concept to fruition under the guidance and direction of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Common tasks include managing project budgets and timelines, setting expectations, facilitating communication among multiple parties, and tracking action items. Other responsibilities may include data requests, grant and loan application narratives, researching vendor products, preparing contracts, and other duties. Engineering Staff team members can expect to communicate frequently with clients and vendors and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, professional, and adaptable. Attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication skills are vital. The nature of the role requires a team player – meaning someone who can take ownership of assigned tasks, collaborate well with other members of the team, and proactively seeks to help team members push a project to the finish line. This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Required Competencies
Education & Experience
Successful applicants should have a degree from a technical institution or university or applicable experience. Engineering backgrounds are welcome but not required. Familiarity with project management, engineering principles, or the telecommunications industry is a plus, but not required.
