Job Description

Vara is an online ecommerce brand creating products for firearm safety. We are looking to fill a Customer Experience and Support role that will help customers make online purchases, respond to inquiries, and assist with returns/shipping. Vara is a rapidly growing startup based in Troy, NY that was started by RPI engineering students.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Have 1 year of experience working in a customer facing environment (previous experience using customer email platforms a plus!)
• Available Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm (with availability to shift to evening or weekend hours during our busiest time periods)
• Clear communicator across all channels
• Smart and organized
• Friendly, patient and empathetic, with the ability to put yourself in the customer's shoes
• Hardworking with a “not ask is too small”attitude
• Never satisfied with the status quo, always thinking"how can we do this better?"
• Passionate about transforming firearm safety

We are a young and growing technology startup with a great product in an interesting industry, working to expand our product line. Our mission at Vara Safety is to bring better firearm safety into the lives of over 40 million households in the United States. Most handguns are bought for protection. Many people do not lock up their guns because they want immediate access in an emergency. Existing box-style safes do not allow immediate access - no matter how fast they claim to be. Vara Safety’s Reach 2 is an “open” style safe that gives gun owners BOTH immediate access and security. We use biometric technology in conjunction with a versatile mechanical platform that allows for compatibility with most firearms. We will later expand to include smart data, communication, and analytics for law enforcement and military applications.
