Position: Variety Show Director (Part-Time, Seasonal) Duration: 2-week contract (June 16-26 & July 21-August 1, 2025) Location: Arts Bonita Summer Performing Arts Camp

Overview: Arts Bonita Summer Performing Arts Camp seeks a creative and experienced Variety Show Director to conceptualize, develop, and produce an engaging end-of-session variety show that showcases our campers' talents across multiple performing arts disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities:

Create an innovative vision for two variety shows integrating theatre, dance, musical theatre, improv, and singing elements

Develop a cohesive program that highlights campers' skills while providing an enjoyable audience experience

Oversee rehearsals and provide constructive direction to performers

Collaborate with camp counselors and specialized instructors across disciplines

Manage production elements, including basic staging, transitions, and performance flow

Guide technical aspects, including simple lighting and sound requirements

Qualifications:

Proven experience directing and producing theatrical productions

Strong background in at least one performing arts discipline with appreciation for multiple forms

Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with youth

Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Organizational skills to manage multiple performance elements simultaneously
