    As an Immigration Legal Assistant at Vasquez Law Firm, you will play a vital role in supporting our immigration attorneys and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. You will assist clients in various immigration matters, including but not limited to family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, naturalization, asylum, and removal defense. We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our immigration team. You'll draft petitions, waivers, Naturalization, Business visas, U visa, Vawa, T-visas, asylum, TPS, DACA, removal defense paperwork with USCIS, US embassies, and immigration courts. Responsibilities: • Draft petitions, waivers, Naturalization, Business visas, U visa, Vawa, T-visas, asylum, TPS, DACA, removal defense paperwork with USCIS, US embassies, and immigration courts • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings • Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed Language: • English • Spanish (Required) Work Location: In-person Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or relevant certification in paralegal studies or a related field • 2+ years of experience working as a legal assistant, preferably in immigration law • Strong knowledge of immigration laws, procedures, and forms • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (bilingual skills in Spanish or another language is a plus) • Proficiency in using legal research tools and software • Attention to detail and the ability to organize and manage multiple cases simultaneously • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills and time-management skills • Talented communicator and writer • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills • 3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting • Have a strong understanding of the following forms and processes: I-130, I-485, N-400, I-765, I-131, I-526, I-589 consular processing of immigrant/nonimmigrant visas, and immigration court filings • Understand what documentation is required to support various immigration applications, and have extensive experience organizing application packets in accordance with legal requirements • Be familiar with concepts of immigration and nationality law, such as the requirements for non-immigrant and immigrant visas, admissibility, and deportation • Have excellent writing skills, including a mastery of English spelling and grammar • Have excellent communication and organizational skills • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Compensation: $33,000 - $45,000 USD
