Position Summary
The Vegetation Work Scheduler – Business Analyst (DMS) plays a critical role in supporting vegetation management operations by ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and effective use of data management systems. This position bridges field operations and office administration, providing database analysis, work planning and scheduling, reporting, and operational support to ensure efficient execution of vegetation work programs. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with field leadership and office staff.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Analysis
Perform ongoing analysis of the database management system (DMS) to ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy.
Manage and administer database program(s) populated by field personnel, including monitoring compliance with data standards.
Collaborate with General Forepersons (GFs) to outline, implement, and refine data collection and reporting processes.
Facilitate the completion of timely, accurate, and meaningful operational and management reports.
Work Planning & Scheduling
Plan, schedule, and coordinate work assignments for field personnel to support vegetation management objectives.
Support effective resource utilization by aligning schedules with operational priorities and data-driven insights.
Operational Support & Troubleshooting
Serve as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting system, reporting, and workflow issues for field personnel, GFs, and office staff.
Provide office-based support to field teams, ensuring timely resolution of issues that impact productivity or data accuracy.
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, including system enhancements or process improvements.
Administrative & Office Support
Answer phones, manage email correspondence, and maintain electronic and physical files.
Direct inquiries to appropriate staff members and assist in resolving complaints or issues.
Assist with the maintenance of confidential employee records, including drug screenings, motor vehicle reports (MVRs), and background checks, in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Respond professionally and knowledgeably to public concerns and call-in questions.
Order, track, and manage office and field supplies to support ongoing operations.
Qualifications Required
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in business analysis, information systems, operations, or a related field.
Strong data management and analytical skills, with experience working in database-driven environments.
Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule work in a fast-paced operational setting.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with field and office personnel.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with DMS or similar systems preferred.
Preferred
Experience supporting vegetation management, utility operations, or other field-based service organizations.
PG&E databases (i.e. OneVM) or Salesforce
Familiarity with reporting tools, dashboards, or GIS-related systems.
Previous experience coordinating between field crews and office operations.
