    Job Description

    We are seeking a Commercial Truck Insurance Sales Representative to join our team!

    OVERALL PURPOSE:

    The Commercial Truck Insurance Sales Representative performs the essential functions of the position, which include the sale and quoting of new commercial trucking insurance to small, mid-sized, and/or independent companies.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Selling Commercial Trucking Insurance and other insurance to current base of customers
    • Partner with internal departments to grow book of business with current customers
    • Support and service new and renewal business
    • Focus on small accounts that are transactional and fast paced to generate new revenue and grow exclusive Commercial Trucking Program
    • Identifying prospective customers using established lead methodologies for new business
    • Submit applications to underwriter and negotiate policy terms and costs
    • Deliver quote proposals and provide overview of coverage terms
    • Making presentations to decision-makers of trucking companies to establish or maintain a relationship (Independent Owner Operators, Large Fleets and Small Businesses)
    • Exceeding sales goals for volume of quality new business quoted and written generating new commission income

    OTHER DUTIES:

    • Provides support that continually improves the customer relationship
    • Works with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs

     

    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & SOFT SKILLS:

    Property & Casualty Agents License

    • Preferred 2-5 years’ experience in Commercial Auto, Commercial Truck Insurance
    • Knowledge of insurance products and usage’s
    • Knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets
    • Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures
    • Preferred direct experience Commercial Trucking Property & Casualty Insurance
    • Positive innovative approach to problem solving
    • Excellent Interpersonal skills
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Excellent negotiation skills
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Ability to work independently
