VENN is looking for a Video Editor who will be integral in the post production process of VENN original series, daily shows, events, as well as marketing, promotional and branded content. The Video Editor must have extensive knowledge of the post-production environment, be comfortable working independently or on a team, and must be excited about creating content for VENN. As a Video Editor, the primary objective is crafting high-quality and dynamic ideas and experiences for our audience. This role will also work to ensure that every video created supports our brand voice and values. As a Video Editor you must be able to manage multiple projects at various stages of production simultaneously, stay organized, be open to feedback and collaboration, and have the ability to self-prioritize.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide creative video editorial for the VENN Network, working with a mix of content/elements such as: interviews, game capture, motion graphics, original photography, photos, music, and sound effects to create works that excite, inform, and still tell a story.
• Must be able to operate with varying degrees of supervision. Take ownership when needed while remaining flexible to collaboration and iteration with a team of dedicated game capture artists, motion graphics artists and project directors.
• Facilitate content reviews with stakeholders and implement director notes.
• Ingest, organize, manage and update footage; music and sound effects pulled from our library; locate archival assets necessary to support their assignment objectives.
• Generate and export deliverables for production team, audio mix, and color session while working closely with our remote assistant editors to hand off master sequences for processing and delivery.
• Flexibility in role within the team and within the company, including working across multiple formats and departments as needed
• Strong communicator who is able to work closely with team members and talent, take feedback constructively, and contribute to an environment of communication and accountability

Requirements

• 3-5 years professional editorial experience.
• Deep knowledge of post production workflows and asset management.  
• Ideally proficient in one of the following: AVID, Premiere Pro and Adobe creative suite, DaVinci and Final Cut
• Strong ability to edit music to maximize impact.
• Great sense of pacing and timing while crafting the appropriate narrative to support the images and sound. 
• Basic Color Correction skills and workflow 
• Experience interfacing with departments and artists outside of post-production (e.g. Audio, Color, VFX, Game Teams, etc.)
• Knowledge of the current post-production industry-standard workflows and archival organization.
• Strong visual storytelling skills, including a demonstrable understanding of good composition, screen direction and the 180 line, continuity & eye trace.
• Familiarity with competitive gaming culture (i.e. Gears of War and Esports) and an interest in video games.
• Demonstrated expertise working in Short Form media and visual storytelling (Commercials, Sizzle Reels, Trailers, Shorts, Etc.).
• Highly self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
• Able to work well under tight deadlines and quick project turnaround.
• Able to work closely with VENN production as well as VENN team members.
• Able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
• Familiar with advanced video compression techniques and associated software packages.

Scope of Work:

• Responsible for producing, shooting and editing content for VENN shoulder and broadcast content on a weekly basis.
• Edit style is a wide variety of videos -  for the VENN network shows, as well as other B-Roll requests that come up.
• Content support for the tournament broadcast and scheduled events is the primary responsibility.  Story driven features with an arch and ability to constructively take criticism is a must.
• Ability to shoot live event coverage may occasionally be required.
• Ability to travel
• Work directly with VENN Programming, Development, and Production on creative, delivery, and approval.  The Editor gives assignments directly and approves them all.
