  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary

    A Construction Laborer does physical labor on construction sites. They may prepare sites by cleaning them, loading and unloading materials, and removing debris as directed by the superintendent or project manager. A general laborer may also run small equipment or put together and take apart scaffolding and other temporary structures.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operate and care for construction equipment and tools.
    • Help equipment operator, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
    • Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and debris.
    • Load or unload construction materials.
    • Remove, fill, or compact earth.
    • Follow instructions from supervisors.
    • Assist craft workers such as carpenters and concrete finishers.
    • Perform small demolition tasks.
    • Perform site clean-up.

    Requirements

    • Be at least 18 years of age.
    • Ability to do physical labor.
    • Ability to work in all weather.
    • Workers must be punctual and reliable.
    • Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
    • Must work well with others.
    • Dress code is long pants, company shirt, boots, and other PPE as directed by your supervisor.
    • Must be respectful and professional in all circumstances, with a lets get it done attitude.
    • Must be able to travel

    Cleanliness

    • Employee shall keep their work area clean and organized at all times.
    • Clean your work area before leaving each day and when tasks for said area are complete.
    • Enforcement of jobsite cleanliness of subcontractors. Inform superintendent if subcontractors are not cleaning up as asked.

    Safety

    • Work safely and always be aware of your surroundings.
    • Inspect tools and cords daily for safety issues.
    • Know where the safety manual and supplies are stored
