Position Overview:

The Ventilator Unit APP will support the Ventilator Unit physician in providing daily care and monitoring for ventilator-dependent residents.

Qualifications:

• Education: NP: Master’s in Nursing or PA: Accredited PA Program
• Licensure: Active NYS NP/PA License
• Experience: Critical care or pulmonary medicine (preferred)
• Technical Skills:
  • Ventilator management collaboration
  • Acute clinical deterioration response
• Soft Skills: Adaptive decision-making, interdisciplinary teamwork
• Other Requirements: Maintain compliance with HIPAA and facility respiratory care policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily assessments and respond to acute changes.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists on ventilator management.
• Order diagnostics and adjust treatments under physician guidance.
• Document care and maintain EMR accuracy.
