Position Summary:

• Pfizer is looking to hire 1 temporary position with the title of Analytical Contractor for the Pharmaceutical Research and Development group.
• These individuals will be motivated scientists who will focus on analytical characterization of mRNA and Lipid Nanoparticle formulations.
• They will work in a matrix environment to design and execute experiments for in-process samples, stability studies, and final drug products.
• The individuals will be involved in identifying, developing, and implementing novel biochemical and biophysical methods to further enhance knowledge for mRNA and Lipid Nanoparticle products.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to deliver results under ambitious timelines in a matrixed environment.

  Role responsibilities:

• Hands-on lab work to take up ~80% of time
• Design and execute experiments for in-process samples, stability studies, and final drug products.
• Learning and developing analytical techniques and routine analysis of formulation samples
• Data management, including electronic notebook keeping, processing of data, compiling figures for presentations and writing reports
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Execute, troubleshoot, and optimize standard protocols, and as well as survey scientific literature to inform the development of additional assays as needed
• Comply with laboratory safety procedures 

  Required Qualifications and Skills:

• A scientific degree or background with 3-5 years experience
• Experience with a number of biophysical and biochemical techniques (HPLC, CGE, light scattering, particle characterization, spectroscopy)
• Understanding of lipid Nanoparticles and mRNA
• Ability to capture data into an electronic lab notebook  

  Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• A background in molecular biology, chemistry, bioengineering, pharmaceutical sciences
• Experience with sterile technique
• Experience with analytical techniques for characterizing mRNA and lipid nanoparticles

Location: Andover - MA

Employment Type: 18 months contract as W2 employee with benefits.
