    Position Summary:

    Forecasting and Demand Planning Analyst role, supporting the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This individual will have ownership to manage one or more of the company’s sales channels and /or customer segments, including National Key Accounts and Regional Accounts.

    A qualified candidate will have very strong analytical capabilities and interpersonal skills to successfully navigate the input and interactions with Sales, Supply & Fulfillment, Purchasing, and Product teams.

    Through the collaboration with other departments and management team, the Demand Planning Analyst will play an integral role in creating demand plans that drive the production necessary to achieve the company's customer service and revenue goals, manage forecast error down to targeted levels, and support the S&OP Demand Review meeting process.

    The Demand Planning Analyst will possess a strong analytical bias while having highly developed influencing and collaboration skills, and strong relationship-building skills. An ability to build consensus and alignment cross-functionally will be the key to this position’s success. Additionally, an ability to influence up to Supply Chain Leadership will be required and will prove effective in the development of robust supply strategies, and the adoption of the S&OP process company wide. This will require the ability to maintain a high level of organization, commitment to follow through, enthusiasm and motivation, and to effectively manage relationships with internal and external partners.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the Demand Planning team's monthly customer and SKU level forecasts. Work towards end state goal of developing specific segment(s) of the company’s “bottoms up” sales forecast for inclusion in the overall financial plan.
    • Support the Demand Planning Manager by assembling key forecast and metric information to feed the monthly S&OP Demand Review meetings.
    • Support efforts to refine the company's event management process with the objective of improving credibility and accuracy of incremental demand projections. Assist in the determination of suggested "lift" quantities above baseline to Sales team; add confirmed lift to baseline demand to develop overall integrated plan.
    • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop and manage product assortments for selected segment(s) of the company’s product categories, sales channels, and/or customers. Utilize available sell-through data from the company’s Key Accounts and provide detailed information that will assist with metrics reporting.
    • Support the tracking of forecast accuracy. Consistently review forecast accuracy versus pre-determined target levels and identify opportunities for improvement in process.
    • Develop an understanding of the company’s business strategies and initiatives and apply these towards the SKU level forecasts that drive the financial plan and inventory management.
    • Effectively communicate and develop rapport with other departments, working towards ongoing improvement of forecasting accuracy.

    Education and Experience:

    • BA/BS with an emphasis in Engineering, Economics, Business Operations, or Supply Chain/Logistics.
    • 2+ years of demand planning/forecasting/supply chain experience in a consumer products and/or retail industry (perishable products industry a plus), managing a demand plan for 1,000+ SKUs.
    • S&OP process experience / familiarity a plus.
    • Working knowledge of forecasting software and best practice applications (Demand Solutions experience a plus).
    • ERP experience and proficiency (JD Edwards Enterprise One a plus)

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strong analytical skills; working knowledge of statistics and forecast mathematics.
    • Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables, etc.); spreadsheet creation and analysis, using common and sometimes complex formulas, is a must, including the skills to develop charts and reports.
    • Systems and database tools proficiency (forecasting tools, ERP planning applications, MS Access, SQL Database, etc.)
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Good presentation skills; ability to clearly and succinctly convey information.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Salary Base Range of $69,660 – $88,500 for Employees Located in California*

    *The “base salary range” provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates. Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography. Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
