    At Veo, we are transforming global urban planning and transportation by building the next-generation micro-mobility sharing network through our dockless e-scooter and bike-share systems. We also offer fat-tire bikes, cargo bikes and ADA-compliant bikes – to increase accessibility for all.     WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    We are looking for a Strategic Communications Manager to be responsible for the strategy and execution of local and policy communications across the U.S., reporting to the Director of Public Policy and Partnerships, and partnering with local operations, partnerships teams, and product teams. the Strategic Communications Manager will:

    • Oversee and support the development of communications for Veo’s product and service offerings 
    • Build expertise on micromobility policy topics, including safety, sustainability, infrastructure, transit access, equity, and data privacy
    • Create and communicate policy-oriented messaging to journalists, governments, non-profit partners, livable streets advocates, mobility advocates, and business development partners
    • Find creative ways to differentiate Veo from its competitors, using market knowledge to discover and amplify new narratives
    • Implement forward-thinking branding, messaging and communications plan to achieve Veo's communications goals for audiences including riders, media, political decision-makers and other stakeholders.
    • Track down both data-driven and anecdotal market stories, and infuse into all public-facing material

    WHO YOU ARE:

    • 3+ years experience in managing or supporting message development and media relations in a regulated and ultra-competitive consumer product marketplace
    • Scrappy, entrepreneurial spirit with an aptitude for overcoming obstacles with limited resources
    • The ability to generate and disseminate content across the globe that speaks to both consumers and regulators
    • Relationships with consumer and product-related media outlets are preferred
    • Precise, empathetic communication skills in both 1:1 and company-level settings
    • Strong cross-functional relationships with product, operations, and partnership teams in past roles
    • Experience using research and data to draw consumer insights, track campaign performance and iterate on our PR strategy
    • A belief in the importance of providing access to sustainable forms of transportation
    • Takes ownership and accountability for actions and sees projects through to completion
    • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to use those skills across a number of mediums (social media, press releases, op-eds, speeches, etc.)
    • Preferred location: Chicago and New York
