    Job Description

    NVE Inc. is seeking an Electrician in support of an operations and maintenance (O&M) contract in Washington, DC. The electrician must have a journeyman electrician license and shall have at least four (4) years of experience at that level obtained within the past seven (7) years in the field of inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, operating and performing preventive maintenance on complex electrical power distribution systems.

    Job Description

    Performs complex preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs of electrical equipment, located in the interior and exterior of buildings. Monitors building system operations and performance. Candidate must have the following:

    • Thorough understanding of ARC Flash, NFPA 70E & Proper PPE.
    • Experience with low voltage switchgear, high voltage system, backup generators, UPS & batteries, static transfer switches, automatic transfer switches, and racking out electronic breakers.
    • Skilled in electrical troubleshooting and repairs including electrical controls schemes.
    • Experience in creating SOP's, MOP's, and EOP's.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

    • Operates, inspects, and maintains electrical systems; mechanical and electrical equipment in assigned facility to achieve most efficient results. Assures that equipment is being maintained in a safe manner. Minimizes downtime through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance.

    • Applies electrical code to troubleshoot and resolve electrical wiring / circuitry problems
      Maintains the professional appearances of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.

    • Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.

    • Performs work in compliance with standard operating procedures and/or critical work packages, and maintenance work instructions.

    • Responsible for maintaining, responding to service request, as needed under guidance of the PM, Chief Engineer, or Shift Supervisor.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Must be available to respond to on-site emergencies 24 x 7.

    • On-call duties every 8-9 weeks

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • High School or Equivalent (at a minimum)
    • Electrician License (must be maintained for continued employment)
    • Prior experience with Electrical Switchgear, DDC and EMS preferred
    • Must be current on taxes and all Federal Loans
    • OSHA 30 desired
    • Knowledge and experience with Fire & Life Safety System
    • An existing HSPD-12 Determination for Work Desired
