    Job Description

    The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be responsible for carrying out assignments requiring a systematic approach to creating solutions for customer applications. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Manufacturing & Process Engineering.

    • Lead the plant’s manufacturing engineering team focusing on short and mid-term process and product development working with design and program engineers.
    • Track scrap & efficiency to identify areas of concern to focus the team’s attention.
    • Drive improvement in all manufacturing processes using the ITW Toolbox.
    • Responsible for evaluating and managing changes for all manufacturing processes and manufactured products supported by design and process changes of existing product.
    • Ensures the product designs proposed by the design team meet customer requirements and design feasible for manufacturing and within budget, through direct consultation with Project Management, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering.
    • Lead internal launch and manufacturing reviews and product knowledge transfer to the Operations team during Project Launch phases.
    • Support coordination of customer visits with plants as requested.
    • Participates in regular discussions with external customers, Program Managers, Designers and Engineering team.
    • Reviews customer launch orders for changes and adjust production accordingly, tooling and HPVT runs.
    • Promote, support, and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality related policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering required
    • At least 5 years’ experience in plastic injection molding process, preferred
    • Supervisory skill set - knowledge of subordinate monitoring, coaching and counseling.
    • Demonstrated capability to manage and improve assembly and injection molding process control requirements through supervisory direction and/or independent process analysis.
    • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and 6 Sigma preferred
    • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Able to function independently, exercises sound judgment and decision making
    • Must have ability to manage ambiguity
    • Effective problem resolution skills combined with “big picture” awareness
    • Must be able to lift 35 lbs. on occasion.
    • Must be able to climb ladders on occasion.
    • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
