  • Responsibilities

    VeriSIM Life is seeking an exceptionally bright and motivated systems biology expert with a deep knowledge of pharmacokinetics and associated mathematical models. They will be responsible for the development and implementation of computational models to increase the capabilities of our proprietary drug development platform, which has the potential to disrupt the existing drug discovery and clinical trial process.

    Key responsibilities

    • Apply modeling/drug development expertise and understanding of core physiological mechanisms to the development of pharmacological computational models
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists and engineers to support modeling projects and software product
    • Conduct independent research on modeling approaches, and define course-of-action for translation of novel scientific research into modeling workflows
    • Define frameworks for model building, set criteria for model verification and validation

    Qualifications

    • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in engineering, PK / PK/PD / Agent-based modeling & simulation, or related life science discipline
    • Experience with applied biosystems modeling to large molecules/biologics preferred
    • 3+ years of experience implementing mathematical models to solve complex biological problems, preferably in the pharma/CRO space
    • Proficient in mathematics, have a general knowledge of biology, biochemistry, lipid biochemistry, immunology, and/or toxicology
    • Solid competences in mechanistic, systems, and PK/PD modeling techniques and population approaches
    • Experience with data analysis: regression, statistics, and classification algorithms.
    • In-depth knowledge of numerical methods, optimization and programming (e.g. Matlab, C and Python)
    • Excellent communication (verbal & written) skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, highly interdisciplinary environment
    • Proven track record and publications (academia or industry) applying systems modeling approaches to biological systems
