    Job Description

    An Engineer is a problem solver who analyzes models/designs creates modifies and supports a set of complex systems processes or operations that enable business capabilities.

    KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Install/ Maintain and configure the mainframe environment. 25%
    • Maintain Mainframe storage pools. 25%
    • Manage the security on the Mainframe 25%
    • Oncall and Incident management 10%
    • Creates RFI/RFP requests / responses for vendor product evaluations. 10%
    • Responsible for fulfilling end-user requests. 5%

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 3+ Years with Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years’ work experience

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Candidate must have experience with supporting IBM’s z/OS operating system and related products, preferably Version 2.3 or higher.
    • Must have some working knowledge of HSM, SMS and DFDSS.
    • Strong knowledge on Mainview SRM storage product is desired.
    • Should have RACF knowledge.
    • Must be able to use SMPE for product installation and maintenance. Familiar with building RES volumes and USS file systems.
    • Must be comfortable in setting up system PARMLIB members for IPLs and system tuning.
    • Must be experienced in handling and solving system related issues and also have experience with assisting the programming staff with system issues.
    • Experience with BMC’s Mainview products and RACF and Vanguard products a plus.
    • Should have knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies as well as experience performing DR recoveries.
    • The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision to meet his or her goals.

    Additional Information

    Salary: $115,000 - $135,000

    The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
