    Job Description

    The day to day responsibilities of this role are:

    AWS Support

    • AWS Cloudformation (Stacks, stackset, deployment of applications, etc…)
    • AWS Cloudwatch (Monitoring of different services, log aggregation)
    • AWS S3 Bucket (Permissions, various tiers, etc..)
    • AWS SSM (Automation Runbook, Command Document, Patching, etc…)
    • AWS EC2, EBS, SNS, Lambda, ELB, Athena
    • AWS Security: Security groups, IAM

    Production Support

    • Work closely with developers and team to find ways to automate and improve existing processes
    • Analyze, design, implement, maintain and support IT automation solutions across our services
    • Work with the team to design large scale enterprise integration patterns between our services and business unit applications
    • Work independently implementing technical solutions to include: identifying the problem, research/investigating potential solutions, testing potential solutions, providing a recommended solution, implementing solution (including documentation).
    • Manage cloud infrastructure migrations and upgrades ensuring continuity of service during cutovers.
    • Develop integrations leveraging APIs to enhance cloud infrastructure value continually improving our services
    • Participate in vulnerability management projects identifying at-risk applications, servers and identify strategies for remediation.
    • Interface with vendors and internal global teams to ensure the environment conforms to the current standards.
    • Act as a liaison between Architecture and Operations to foster a common tool set and strive to move towards infrastructure as a service.
    • Consistently strive to grow and learn the latest cloud technologies and share knowledge with the team
    • Support short-term and long-term public cloud service enablement planning
    • Automate operational functions (Cloud deployments, upgrades, patching, capacity additions)
    • Automate Active Directory processes and procedures driving an auditable Active directory

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience; MS in Computer Science desirable.
    • 3+ years of experience working with public cloud products and services: AWS preferred.
    • 3-5+ years of progressively responsible Windows/Linux Systems engineer and automation experience
    • Capable of writing code to integrate and automate components through use of APIs.
    • Must have knowledge of implementing services in AWS via Terraform, CloudFormation
    • Must have experience migrating complex, multi-tiered workloads from on-prem to the cloud, including provisioning the target infrastructure and executing cutover plans that minimize system downtime
    • Must have experience in the design, development, and implementation of AWS-based infrastructure solutions using AWS APIs, and Python with boto3
    • Must have advanced (advance to expert level) understanding of IT security and implementation of established government security related guidelines with the understanding of impact on IT infrastructure
    • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and remediate complex technical problems with team members, customers, and vendors quickly and effectively.
    • Strong knowledge of PKI Infrastructure
    • Strong scripting experience in Python and PowerShell/Bash
    • In-depth understanding of the operational dependencies of applications, networks, systems, security, and policy
    • Strong knowledge of core technologies & protocols such as DNS, DHCP, SMB, NTLM, SSL, FTP, TCP/IP, Telnet, LDAP
