Job Description

Verisk is seeking an AVP, Cloud Architecture & Optimization to lead a new team that will be tasked with optimizing Verisk’s AWS cloud footprint.  The successful candidate will report to the CTO and will work collaboratively with Verisk’s Business Unit application and product teams and the infrastructure technology department to identify and deliver cloud-native solutions.

About the role:

• Assess application readiness for cloud technology adoption.
• Assume a leadership role in ensuring that new and existing systems are aligned to Verisk’s cloud-first strategy.
• Evaluate and select existing and emerging cloud technologies that best fit business needs.
• Develop and execute on common patterns across Verisk cloud environment e.g. Lamda, Spot, RDMS.
• Manage stakeholder’s expectations.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects in other architectural areas to ensure comprehensive and cohesive working solutions are developed across disciplines.
• Define and communicate performance and economic value proposition for all projects.
• Ensure all solutions align with Verisk’s best practices for implementing resilient, scalable, enterprise-class solutions in the cloud.

Qualifications

About you:

• Extensive AWS architecture and engineering experience.
• Ability to lead a team and engage with internal customers to identify and lead optimization / rearchitect efforts to deliver cloud-native solutions increasing performance and/or cost.
• Experience architecting cloud infrastructures for medium to large-scale applications.
• Experience leading the organizational adoption of cloud infrastructure in a large enterprise.
• Depth of overall IT system architecture, design, development, deployment experience.
• Deep infrastructure architecture or management experience.
• Specific experience with medium-large scale cloud AWS adoption.
• Experience with common distributed compute and storage technologies and transforming them into cloud-native platforms.
• Demonstrated knowledge of broad enterprise architecture concepts, disciplines, and capabilities.
