    Job Summary

    Vermejo Park Ranch is currently searching for the position of Activities Manager. This position oversees that day to day operations of the activity department and ensures that all guest requests are met with the highest standards. This position is responsible for Activity staff including, guides and the equipment and resources they use to support guest activities. Must poses a deep knowledge of and passion for Ted Turner Expeditions and what it stands for.

    Essential Duties:

    Daily training and organization of all guides.

    Is the Ambassador of the TTX vision and mission and ensures that all activity staff share that vision with our guests.

    Shows care and compassion for team members both in and out of department.

    Puts needs of coworkers above their own.

    Speaks about others in and out of department in a positive light.

    Ensures that all TTX Vermejo Staff have exposure to all that Vermejo has to offer for staff activities.

    Organizes daily guest activities to allow for each guest request being met.

    Consistently communicates with Front Office staff to have a clear understanding of what guests have requests.

    Maintains the Activities Schedule Spreadsheet to ensure that there are sufficient guest activities and guides available for their requests.

    Ensures that activity areas are clean and well maintained, including lakes, hiking trails and shooting areas.

    Participates in the hiring and performance reviews for activity staff.

    Ensures that quality standards and presentation techniques that have been established for Ted Turner Expedition employees are met.

    Ensures the highest standards of, safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene of staff are met.

    Ensures that all guests have an experience that is equal to or greater than our Ranch Hospitality Standards.

    Be aware of the latest Ecotourism trends and standards and suggest how to implement creative changes.

    Ensure that guest service vehicles and equipment are always impeccably clean and well maintained.

    Works with and supports the Hunting Department. This position can also guide hunts with the following exceptions; the lead TTX Guide is available and scheduled to work in activities whenever the manager is on a hunt. The TTX Lead Guide position is a non-hunting guide position.

    Will eagerly support and actively look for ways to help other departments.

    Communicates effectively through verbal, written, and electronic means. Answers emails in a timely manner.

    Qualifications:

    2 years of experience in the TTX Vermejo Activity Department.

    Self-directed, energetic, and motivated with time management and multi-tasking capabilities.

    Must be creative and willing to work with existing core resort philosophy and style.

    Must possess strong interpersonal and team interaction skills with the ability to effectively relate to all levels of employees.

    Clean work habits and strong attention to detail.

    TTX properties are drug free and tobacco free properties. All employees must pass, pre-employment and random drug screens.

    Language Skills: Fluent in English with strong written and oral communication skills. Second language preferred, but not required.

    Reasoning Ability: Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Successful applicants must possess a valid New Mexico Driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Driving record must meet the eligibility requirements of the TEI liability carrier. Employee will be required to sign a confidentiality statement and undergo a background check.

    Other:

    Must adhere to Company and Ranch policies and procedures, which are included in the Turner Enterprises, Inc. Employee Handbook.

    Must present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire, pursuant to federal law.

    May be subject to undergo pre-employment drug test, (after offer is given but before applicant has commenced work). Random drug test are given throughout the year.

    Must have a personal vehicle to travel from ranch location to local town for personal needs.

    The Company operates as a drug-free/tobacco-free workplace. Smoking is not allowed on the ranch property, to include but is not limited to; ranch housing, ranch vehicles, ranch offices or on ranch machines.

    Position requires applicant to live at Vermejo Park Ranch headquarters approximately 40 miles from Raton, NM. Ranch location is approximately 4.5 hours’ drive south of Denver or 4.5 hours’ drive north of Albuquerque.
