Vermejo Park Ranch, located in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, spans approximately 585,000 acres, making it the largest Ted Turner Expeditions vacation property. Job Summary
Vermejo Park Ranch is currently seeking professional guides with skills in outdoor activities like hiking, biking, fishing, and shooting. Must possess a deep passion for conservation and the mission of Ted Turner Expeditions.
Essential Functions:
Maintain the highest level of Guest Services. Be alert, friendly, and able to assist guests promptly and professionally.
Adheres to the quality standards and presentation techniques that have been established for Ted Turner Expedition Guides.
Ensures the highest standards of first aid, safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene are met.
Ensures that all NM laws are met and obeyed.
Maintains a positive and outgoing personality with guests and coworkers.
Ensure that guest service vehicles and equipment are always impeccably clean and well maintained.
Mentor and train of other TTX Guides.
Will communicate guest feedback to the appropriate department leadership.
Eagerly support and actively look for ways to help other departments.
Qualifications:
2 years of guiding experience in a luxury hotel/resort setting.
Shows care and compassion for team members both in and out of department.
Puts needs of coworkers above their own.
Speaks about others in and out of department in a positive light.
Self-directed, energetic, and motivated with multi-tasking capabilities.
Must be creative and willing to work with existing core resort philosophy and style.
Facilitates positive employee image and effective guest and coworker relations by demonstrating attention to detail, congeniality, integrity and sound judgment.
Clean work habits and strong attention to detail.
Operate in a professional manner at all times in and out of the work setting.
TTX properties are drug-free and tobacco-free properties. All employees must pass, pre-employment and random drug screens.
Language Skills: Fluent in English with strong written and oral communication skills. Second language preferred, but not required.
Reasoning Ability: Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Successful applicants must possess a valid New Mexico Driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. Driving record must meet the eligibility requirements of the TEI liability carrier. Employee will be required to sign a confidentiality statement and undergo a background check.
Other: Position requires applicant to live at Vermejo Park Ranch headquarters approximately 40 miles from Raton, NM. Ranch location is approximately 4.5 hours’ drive south of Denver or 4.5 hours’ drive north of Albuquerque.
Compensation: The Ranch offers dorm style company housing and 3 meals per day served in the Employee Dining Room.
