INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER
LOCATION
Beaverton, Oregon. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after 90 days.

You bring a research-informed mindset to instructional content creation across different approaches to science teaching and regional variations in science standards. In addition to being an excellent writer, you know how to create instructional materials that are accessible to the target audience and incorporate best practices. You promote and foster a work environment where collaboration is a priority and contributions from a variety of perspectives are valued. You are collaborative within your team and across departments when offering suggestions, making decisions, and receiving feedback.
You have recent experience teaching science in a 6–12 classroom, developing standards-aligned lessons, and using Vernier data-collection technology.
You are willing to jump in and assist when needed. You know how to have fun in the workplace while setting priorities and accomplishing your daily goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, Instructional Design, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university
Proficient in current science instruction and assessment best practices and the Next Generation Science Standards, including methods to meet the need of diverse learners
3+ years of experience teaching in a science classroom using Vernier data-collection technology

JOB SUMMARY
Collaborate to apply theory and research processes to develop and implement instructional materials, assessment strategies, and resources for K–college learning.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).
